The MX1100 Series Precision Micromanipulator incorporates crossed-roller bearings for precise motion and rack-and-pinion drive for fast, smooth positioning. It is specifically designed as a coarse manipulator for use with Somas MW Series Hydraulic Micromanipulators in high-resolution applications. For general micropositioning tasks, the MX1100 can also be used as a stand-alone micromanipulator.
All drive controls are located in the same plane for convenient access and easier operation. For added probe positioning versatility, the top stage tilts at angles up to 90 degrees and includes 10 mm of fine linear travel along the probe axis. This feature, plus 38 mm of X-axis travel, makes the MX1100 ideal for axial probing of cells.
A built-in thumbscrew locks the vertical axis to prevent gravity-induced drift during long-term experiments. To make micropipette replacement fast and easy, the micromanipulator can be rotated away from the microscope. An adjustable index stop relocats the micromanipulator to its original position.
The micromanipulator includes a solid stainless-steel rod and slotted universal base for stable, convenient mounting to vibration-isolated work surfaces such as Newports VH Series Workstations. It is also available with a magnetic base.
