SOMA’s MC100/MC300 Motion Controllers provide convenient hands-off actuation of one to three 860A Series micrometer-replacement motorized drives. Designed for cell probing, microscopy and electrophysiology applications, these controllers offer positioning resolution from millimeters down to tenth of a micron.

Simply replace the micrometers or adjustment screws installed on your translation stages with 860A Motorized Drives of the appropriate travel. 860I-10, 10ft (3m) cables connect each motorized drive to the MC100/MC300. Each axis has its own FWD and REV motion-actuation buttons and speed control. These front-panel momentary switches provide tactile feedback to signal motion in progress. Rapid, coarse motion as well as high resolution sub-micron positioning can be achieved by the controller’s dual Fast/Slow speed modes.

In conjunction with the MC300, the optional MC300-K Remote Control Keypad or MC300-J 3-axis Joystick provides convenient remote control. Ideal for biomedical applications such as micro injection and patch clamping, these options allow easy control of XYZ motion while viewing through a microscope or monitoring instruments.

The MC100/MC300 controllers were thoughtfully designed to provide smooth, responsive motion with zero drift and a minimum of vibration. A separate wall-mounted power supply is used to minimize EMI sources on your workbench.
